Authorities yesterday caught a 22-year-old fugitive that escaped a Newark halfway house last week in a Haledon apartment.
Charles Umstead who was serving time in connection to a 2008 homicide was caught hiding under a bed in a second-floor apartment in Haledon.
Umstead was said to have been an accomplice in the fatal shooting in Paterson.
Umstead pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and robbery charges.
