Frigid Temperatures Grip Newark, North Jersey Region After Rainy Wednesday

Newark and North Jersey region residents are waking up to bone-chilling temperatures provoked by strong winds, making it feel even colder.AdWhile the heavy rain from Wednesday has departed, it left behind a blast of frigid air that will linger throughout the day. Despite a forthcoming warm-up, the immediate forecast calls for enduring icy conditions.

Yesterday's weather left quite a mess, the National Weather Service said, with wind gusts ranging from 35 to 40 mph in parts of North Jersey and even windier conditions in Newark.

This morning, NWS forecasters say temperatures are plummeting, with wind chills making it feel like the teens and twenties.

Although today promises dry skies, the persistent winds will keep conditions blustery.AdExpect mostly sunny skies with a high near 41 degrees, but wind chill values will hover between 20 and 30.

Tonight, temperatures will drop further, with mostly clear conditions and a low of around 25. It's essential to dress warmly and brace for the cold throughout the day.
