Two men were rushed to University Hospital after they were slashed during a violent robbery in Newark Saturday afternoon.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., police responded to the 200 block of South 6th Street at approximately 4:39 p.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing.
Authorities said a vehicle pulled alongside the victims before four males exited and demanded their backpack.
During the robbery, the suspects reportedly slashed at both men with a sharp object before taking the backpack.
Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to University Hospital for treatment. They were reported in stable condition.p
Police continue to investigate the incident.
