Four Jersey City Cops Suspended in Connection with Chase that Ended in a Fiery Crash

Following an investigation into a high-speed chase that occurred earlier this month, four police officers have been suspended without pay, while two deputy chiefs were reassigned.

According to city officials, the action against the officers for violations of policies during the police pursuit and not in connection with a video released that showed officers kicking the bystander. Those allegations are being investigated by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

The four officers involved were identified as Lt. Keith Ludwig - supervisor responsible for overseeing the entire pursuit -, MD Kahn, Erik Kosinski - reportedly set up an unauthorized roadblock during the pursuit - and Francisco Rodriguez, who allegedly fired at a moving vehicle.

The two deputy chiefs that are being reassigned were identified as Mark Hussey, chief of patrol, and John Corry Short, chief of investigations.

City officials are now looking over the actions of the approximately 20 officers involved in the pursuit.

Adding that there may be others suspended as more information becomes available.
