Four-Alarm Fire Guts Two Homes in Clifton

Firefighters in Clifton were joined by several fire departments in the area to battle a multi-alarm fire that tore through two homes at a location in the city this evening.

According to fire officials, crews responded to 13 East 2nd Street after receiving reports of a fire inside the home.

Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames tearing through the residence and extending to a neighboring house.

Fire officials on the scene struck three additional alarms for manpower after heavy flames began to engulf the structure.

Firefighters were able to make it inside the home to check for trapped or injured occupants. They determined that all of the occupants had been evacuated from the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
