Former Star Ledger Copy Editor Struck, Killed by PSE&G Truck in Bergenfield

A Bergenfield resident who was struck by a PSEG on Friday morning in the boro has died Sunday from his injuries according to information released by his brother.

According to police Mr. Robert Armbruster, 55, was crossing South Washington Avenue when the truck turned left from Magnolia Street and struck him at approximately 10:20 a.m.

EMS transported Armbruster Hackensack University Medical Center suffering critical head injuries, police said at the time.

Armbruster's brother said he died shortly before 10:30 p.m. Sunday evening.

The brother said Armbruster worked as a copy editor for the Star-Ledger for many years before retiring several years ago.

There are no reports of charges filed at this time.
