A former Pennsylvania pastor accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl was arrested at Newark Liberty International Airport Monday after he allegedly fled to Ecuador, authorities said.
According to police, 33-year-old Jacob Malone was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and is expected to be extradited to Chester County.
In West Whiteland, Pa., Maone will face charges of institutional sexual assault and rape.
According to initial reports, Malone met the 12-year-old victim at a church in Mesa, Arizona but reunited n 2014 when her family moved to Downington, Pa.
The victim, then 17 years of age - moved in with Malone. During that period, police allege he provided the victim alcohol and sexually assaulted her on one occasion after she became intoxicated.
The investigation is ongoing.
