Former Ocean City Officer Will Not Serve Time for Having Sex with Minor

Ocean City

After reaching a plea deal today, Charles Cusack, 52, will not serve any prison time.

Back in 2012, Cusack, a retired Ocean City cop, then working as superintendent of beach fee operations, hired the 17-year-old victim.

According to a lawsuit filed earlier this year, the assaults took place in Cusack's home as well as in an office along the Ocean City waterfront that housed the beach badge operations.

Cusack pleaded guilty to second-degree official misconduct and fourth-degree sexual contact which he would of faced up to 10 years in state prison if he was convicted.

However, as part of the plea agreement, Cusack will receive probation but prosecutors will request that he be put on the state's sex offender registry when he is sentenced in December.
