Former NJ Teacher Charged with Explicit Contact, Child Endangerment

Authorities in Middlesex County announced that a North Bergen man was charged with Explicit Contact and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said on April 24, Detective Daniela Castro of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Sergeant Meghan McFadden of the Carteret Police Department commenced an investigation into allegations of explicit contact.

Officials stated the investigation revealed that Jeffrey Munguia, 32, of North Bergen, was the victim’s teacher at Carteret Middle School when the incident occurred in 2022. 

According to officials, on April 24, Munguia was charged with second-degree Explicit Contact and second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child and was arrested without incident.

The investigation is active and continuing, officials said.
