Foot Pursuit Ends in Arrest in Irvington

A foot pursuit of a man who was wanted for several open warrants ended with the man hiding inside a house in the township according to reports.

The incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning when police who were attempting to arrest a man in the 300 block of Myrtle Avenue when the man bolted away from officer, resulting in a short foot pursuit reports said.

The suspect then barricaded himself inside a third floor apartment of the house and refused to come out.

Officers made entry, then found the suspect in some type of crawl space inside the residence.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.

Officers from the Essex County Sheriff's Department took the man into custody.

The incident remains under investigation.
