Fog, Rain, and Possible Storms Make for a Wet Wednesday in Newark

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

It’s a gray and rainy start to Wednesday across Newark and the North Jersey region, as residents wake up to steady showers, patchy fog, and mild temperatures.

As of 4:30 a.m., it’s a comfortable 57 degrees, but the damp conditions are expected to linger throughout the day.

Commuters should plan for extra travel time this morning, with reduced visibility due to fog and the potential for ponding on roadways from heavier rain.

According to the National Weather Service, showers are expected to continue through the day, with the possibility of thunderstorms after 11 a.m.

Temperatures will hover around 61 degrees, with east winds reaching 10 to 13 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight, showers and thunderstorms remain likely before 11 p.m., followed by continued rain and patchy fog. Lows will settle around 60 degrees.

Forecasters say this may be the wettest day of the week, so keep the umbrella close, and stay safe on the roads, New Jersey.
