Residents across Newark and North Jersey woke up to a cool and damp Monday morning, as foggy and drizzly conditions set the tone for the start of the workweek.According to the National Weather Service, downtown Newark is currently at 63 degrees.
Cooler temperatures are being felt across the region, with Morristown at 57 degrees, Sussex County at 52, and Haledon reporting 54 degrees.
Scattered showers are expected through parts of the day, with a 40 percent chance of rain mainly before 2 p.m.
The skies will remain mostly cloudy, and the high is expected to reach around 72 degrees.
While it won’t be a complete washout, those heading out to walk the dog or grab a morning coffee may want to bring along a light jacket and keep an umbrella nearby—just in case.
Despite the gray start, conditions are expected to gradually improve later in the day.
