Five Victims Shot in Separate Trenton Shooting Incidents on Friday

Multiple victims suffered non-fatal injuries in two separate shooting incidents that occurred in the city of Trenton on Friday.

According to Trenton Police officials, in the first shots-fired incident, Mercer County shooting response team were called to investigate a shooting that sent three people to the hospital Friday afternoon when gunfire rang out in the vicinity of East Ingham and Proctor avenues at around 1 p.m.

Trenton Police closed a large area of the park to pedestrian traffic after locating the first victim suffering a gunshot wound to the pelvis and right knee. After officers canvased the area, they discovered a second victim suffering a gunshot wound under the armpit.

Police say a third person was found suffering a graze when officers continued their investigation.

In a late Friday evening shooting incident, a gunman arrived in the 1400 block of Liberty Street and began to fire multiple times at unknown targets just before 11 p.m.

Police arrived at the scene and found a male and female suffering gunshot wounds in their torsos according to police.

The pair remains at the hospital in serious condition police said.

The motive for both shootings remains under investigation and no arrests were made according to Trenton Police.
