Five Charged with Fatal Stabbing of 16-Year-Old Teen in Edgewater

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced today the arrest of Khari Noerdlinger (DOB: 12/20/1996) of 5 Thompson Lane, of Edgewater, on charges of aggravated manslaughter, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and hindering apprehension; and the arrests of Mirleny Tremols (DOB: 04/27/1982) of 11 Southmill Street, Nyack, NY, Kevensky Lubin (DOB: 02/24/1997) of 40 South Cole Avenue, Spring Valley, NY, Richard Jean-Pierre (DOB: 05/07/1997) of 45 Division Avenue, Apartment 2, Spring Valley, NY, and Calm Gaspard (DOB: 05/19/1992) of 35 South Madison Avenue, Apartment 3A, Spring Valley, NY on charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery.

On Sunday, January 31, at approximately 10:30 pm, members of law enforcement were contacted by the Palisades General Hospital regarding an individual who was brought into the emergency room in critical condition as a result of stab wounds. The male juvenile victim, who was identified as “S.L.”, died from his injuries several hours later.

During the investigation, it was determined that S.L., Tremols, Lubin, Jean-Pierre and Gaspard traveled to the vicinity of 276 Old River Road on the evening of Jan.31 to participate in an armed robbery.

Shortly after arriving at that location, the suspects confronted Noerdlinger and an altercation ensued.

During that altercation, Noerdlinger stabbed S.L., who died at Palisades General Hospital in the early morning hours of February 1, 2016.

Thereafter, Noerdlinger and others took steps to remove evidence from the vicinity of the altercation.

As a result, Khari Noerdlinger was charged with: one (1) count of aggravated manslaughter; one (1) count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose; and one (1) count of hindering apprehension.

Bail was set by the Honorable Susan J. Steele, P.J.Cr. of Bergen County, at $500,000.00, no ten (10%) percent option.

Noerdlinger was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.

Tremols, Lubin, Jean-Pierre Garpard, Tremols were each charged with: one (1) count of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Bail was set by the Honorable James Guida, J.S.C of the Bergen County at $750,000.00, no ten (10%) percent option. They were all remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail. The investigation is continuing.

The cause of S.L.’s death, was a stab wound to the femoral artery in the right leg. S.L.'s death was ruled a homicide.
