Five Arrested for Occupying Stolen Uhaul Truck from Elizabeth that Crashed into Newark Fire Truck

Police in Newark are reporting the arrest of Vincent Tene, 28, and Patricia Mitchell, 50, both of Pittsburgh; along with Jennifer Reed, 20, of New York; Samantha Tene, 29, and Miranda Martin, 21, both of Boston; following a motor vehicle collision with a Newark Fire Division truck yesterday.

According to police at approximately 10:30 a.m., police at Pennsylvania Avenue and South Street observed a 2016 white Ford 250 U-Haul truck strike a Newark Fire Department truck that assisted in an earlier motor vehicle incident.

Officers determined that the U-Haul truck had been reported stolen out of Elizabeth, New Jersey.

The driver, Vincent Tene, and four female passengers, Mitchell, Reed, S. Tene and Martin, were immediately arrested police said.

Police charged Vincent Tene with Receiving Stolen Property. Mitchell, Reed, S. Tene and Martin are charged with Taking without Owner’s Consent.

These charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
