Firefighter Injured in Jersey City House Blaze

A firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries while responding to a house fire in Jersey City Sunday afternoon.

According to officials, crews responded to 143 Palisade Avenue just before 1 p.m. Sunday for a report of a fire.

Upon arrival, emergency responders encountered flames coming from two windows on the top floor of the three-story home. The fire was brought under control with no report of damage to neighboring homes.

The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced occupants.  

According to officials, a firefighter suffered a broken finger and will remain off-duty.
