Fire officials from Maplewood are investigating a two-alarm fire that damaged a house on Saturday evening.
Accoridng to Maplewood Police Chief Jimmy DeVaul, at approximately 7:18 p.m. Maplewood firfighter, please police, and mutual fire aid from several other municipalities responded to a structure fire at 24 Lindsley Ave.
Chief DaVaul said upon emergency responders arrival they observed a three family residence fully engulfed and deemed uninhabitable.
Crew were able to bring the blaze under control in about an hours.
According to Chief DaVaul, all residents were able to escape the residence without injury and one of the displaced families requested assistance from Red Cross.
Due to information gathered on scene, The Essex County Prosecutors Office Arson Squad was notified for further investigation.
