Fire Displaces Several Residents After Blaze Erupts in Irvington Apartment Building

An evening fire forced multiple residents from their homes in Irvington on Tuesday after flames swept through an apartment on Chancellor Avenue. 

According to preliminary information, Irvington Township Fire Department crews were alerted to the incident shortly before 5:30 p.m.

 

Firefighters arrived in the 700 block of Chancellor Avenue and quickly stretched multiple lines after locating the fire inside an apartment at 722 Chancellor Avenue. 

 

Crews worked swiftly to bring the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading further throughout the building.

 

Despite the rapid response, several residents were displaced. 

The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist affected families with temporary housing, meals, and other necessities.
 

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under active investigation.
