Fire Damages Two Homes in Lyndhurst

Firefighters in Lynhurst battled a fire that damaged two homes in Lyndhurst overnight.

According to preliminary reports, the fire started at around 2 a.m. inside a home in the 200 block of Summit Avenue where firefighters arrived to find fire coming from the second floor of the structure.

Crews began to battle flames that caused severe damage to the second floor and attic of the house.

Officials say a neighboring home received melted siding and fire damage during the blaze but there were no injuries reported in either structure.

The fire took over an hour to place under control with North Arlington, Rutherford, and East Rutherford fire companies assisting at the scene.
