Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Investigations Stephen F. Wilson, Jr. and Chief Jeffrey Almer of the Washington Township Police Department are investigating a fire that killed a person inside a Washington Township home on Jan. 21st.
According to authorities, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police and fire officials were dispatched to Pickle Road for a report of a residential fire.
Upon arrival, responders located an active fire to a dwelling. The preliminary investigation has revealed that the fire resulted in one fatality.
The investigation remains ongoing and the identity of the individual will not be released at this time.
