A female was pronounced dead at the scene of a stabbing that seriously injured a second person in a section of Elizabeth this afternoon .
According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to a home in the 200 block of Front Street to investigate a disputed shortly before 4:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the victims bleeding heavily suffering apparent stab wounds at that location.
Police say the second victim was rushed in University Hospital in Newark in critical condition.
Elizabeth Police were joined by The Union County Prosecutor’s Office to assist in the investigation.
There were no confirmation of arrests.
