Friday night, a section of Jersey City was marred by violence as the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office investigated a fatal stabbing incident.
Police responded to distress calls from the 100 block of Harvey Avenue shortly before 8:55 p.m. following reports of an altercation.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a severely injured, unidentified individual who had sustained a stab wound to the stomach.
Despite medical personnel's efforts to control the heavy bleeding, the victim was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation into the motive behind the stabbing is still in its preliminary stages, and no immediate arrests have been made.
