The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office will investigate a shooting that left a person dead in Paterson Saturday night.
Gunfire rang out in the vicinity of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Franklin Street around 10 p.m., sending Paterson Police to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, units found an unidentified, unconscious and unresponsive person suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
Passaic County officials said the victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation and no arrests have been made.
