Police in Newark are looking into a fatal shooting that resulted in fatal injuries near the border of Newark's Central and West wards. \
In the investigation, at approximately 12:35 a.m., police found an unidentified male suffering a gunshot wound in his head at an undisclosed address on Fairmount Avenue.
Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
At this time, the fatal shooting does not appear suspicious and there are no immediate reports from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
There were no other injuries reported.
