A shooting that resulted in a fatality of a male victim on Friday afternoon in under investigation by authorities.
Reports of shots fired brought Newark Police officers to the 90's block of Parkview Terrace where officers found an unidentified male injured by gunfire shortly before 3 p.m. according to reports.
The victim was rushed by EMS to University Hospital in Newark reportedly suffering gunshot injuries to the back and later pronounced dead according to reports.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office were on the scene conducting the investigation.
The identity of the victim and motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
There have been no reports of arrests made.
