There is an active and ongoing investigation underway into a shooting that killed a male in Jersey City during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, the gunmen arrived in the area of Bergen and Lexington avenues, where he found several people on the corner, then pulled a gun and began firing at the group.
Police say flying bullets struck a male victim at that location.
EMS arrived and rushed the victim to Jersey City Medical center, where doctors were not successful in saving the unidentified male, according to police.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation. There were no other injuries immediately reported.
