Bergen County authorities are investigating a pedestrian strike that left one person dead in Bogota during the overnight hours.
Police were called to the vicinity of East Main Street and Crestview Place at approximately 10:35 p.m. to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon their arrival, officers found the unconscious and unresponsive victim lying on the ground suffering severe injuries.
The victim was later pronounced dead by medical personnel according to preliminary reports.
Police set up a crime scene in the area where they collected evidence to determine the cause of the incident.
There were no arrests reported.
