Fatal Pedestrian Crash Under Investigation on Route 9 in Old Bridge

Authorities in Middlesex County are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred early Saturday morning on Route 9 in Old Bridge.

According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and Old Bridge Police Chief Thomas J. Montagna, police responded at approximately 1:25 a.m. on January 3, 2026, to the southbound lanes of Route 9 in front of Quality Chevrolet.

 

When officers arrived, they found 30-year-old Davon Porter of New Brunswick, who had been struck by a Honda CR-V while attempting to cross the roadway. 

 

The vehicle was being driven by a 30-year-old man from Manalapan.

 

Porter was pronounced deceased at the scene.

 

The crash remains under active investigation. Anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area is asked to contact Officer Francis Landi of the Old Bridge Police Department at 732-721-5600, ext. 3823.
