Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Route 440 in Jersey City, Investigation Underway

A deadly pedestrian collision occurred in the area of Route 440 and Danforth Avenue in Jersey City, prompting a response from the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department.Nino Authorities are advising the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. when emergency responders received reports of a pedestrian being struck by a car.

Upon arrival, they discovered an unidentified individual who had suffered severe injuries.

It was reported that several cars had struck and then run over the victim. Tragically, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of now, the victim's identity has not been released, and the investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains active.
