Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Busy Elizabeth Roadway

A pedestrian was struck and killed on one of the city's most notorious stretches of road in Elizabeth this afternoon. 

Real estate The collision occurred at the intersection of Spring Street (Route 1&9) and North Avenue, a spot known for its heavy traffic and hazardous conditions for pedestrians.

The Elizabeth Police Department and emergency medical services (EMS) were dispatched to the scene around 3:40 p.m. following reports of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, responders found an unidentified individual with severe injuries. Several bystanders had already begun attempting CPR on the victim before official help could take over.

Despite the swift response and efforts of both the community members and emergency teams, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released, as authorities are likely still in the process of notifying next of kin.

The Elizabeth Police Department is currently conducting an active investigation into the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Real estate As a result, motorists are advised to expect significant delays in the area surrounding Spring Street and North Avenue.
