Authorities in Newark are investigating a crash that caused fatal injuries on a highway in Newark Friday morning.
According to preliminary reports the crash happened in the northbound lanes of Route 1&9 just at the NJ-21 split were police received reports of a collision with injuries.
When officers arrived, they found the unconscious and unresponsive motorcyclist down on the roadway suffering severe injuries.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene according to reports.
The crash caused some delays on the highway while police investigated the cause of the crash.
There were no other injuries immediately reported.
