Police in Hazlet are investigating a pedestrian strike that fatally injured a person on NJ-36 on Monday night.
Emergency responders rushed to the vicinity of NJ-36 and Laurel Avenue at approximately 9:30 p.m. after they received reports of an injured person.
Upon their arrival, they found the unconscious and unresponsive person laying on the ground suffering severe injuries.
Medical units provided life-saving techniques in an attempt to revive the unidentified person, but the victim died according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident remains under investigation.
