The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into a shooting that killed a person in a section of Trenton Monday afternoon.
According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to a section of Spring Street to investigate reports of shots fired just before 4:40 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found an unconscious and unresponsive person suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
Police say the unidentified person was pronounced dead a short time later.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined and no suspects have been identified.
