One person was killed in a late night crash in the Ocean County town of Barnegat Township.
According to preliminary reports, emergency responders rushed to the 40's block of Warren Grove Road after they received reports of a car crash with injuries just before 11:30 p.m.
Rescue crews arrived to find a car in the woods with at least one person trapped inside according to reports. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. One other person inside the vehicle suffered unknown injuries.
EMS transported a firefighter to an area hospital for an unspecified injury.
Police closed the intersection of Route 539 and 72 to investigate the cause of the crash.
