Middlesex County officials are investigating a fire that killed a person inside a house in South Brunswick Monday night.
Officials say multiple fire companies were dispatched to reports of a fire in the 20's block of Pelham Road around 9:35 p.m.
Firefighters arrived and found heavy fire showing from a single-story wood-framed house.
Crews stretched multiple lines to knock down flames that began to extend to neighboring structures forcing officials to call a second alarm.
According to reports, a search of the home for trapped and injured occupants revealed a person dead inside.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
