Fatal Crash Under Investigation in West Deptford

Authorities in NJ announced that the Attorney General’s Office is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred at roughly 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, in West Deptford, Gloucester County.

The multi-vehicle crash occurred in the vicinity of Red Bank Avenue and Hessian Avenue after a West Deptford police officer began to follow a vehicle, and the driver of that vehicle drove away at a high speed and collided with a third vehicle, according to NJ AG officials. 

NJ AG officials say the civilian driver of the third vehicle was killed in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle that collided with the third vehicle has been charged by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office with death by auto and assault by auto, NJ AG officials stated. 

According to NJ AG officials, the criminal investigation into these charges is ongoing and being conducted by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.

The charges and allegations against the driver are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
