Authorities in Middlesex County are investigating a violent late-night crash that left at least one person dead and others seriously injured in Woodbridge Township.

The collision occurred around 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of NJ-27, officials said.
Details surrounding how the crash happened have not yet been released.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found multiple victims trapped inside a heavily damaged vehicle. Crews worked to extricate at least three individuals from the car.
As of 4 a.m., officials reported a total of three victims connected to the crash.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining victims were transported for medical treatment. Their conditions have not yet been disclosed.
The roadway was temporarily closed as investigators worked to process the scene and determine the cause of the crash.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
