A fatal motor vehicle crash closed all southbound lanes of Route 18 in Marlboro Township early Sunday morning as emergency crews responded to a fiery wreck with entrapment.
According to initial information, the crash occurred on Route 18 southbound in the area of Tennent Road. Responders reported that one vehicle caught fire following the collision, trapping at least one occupant.
Authorities confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident prompted the complete closure of all southbound lanes of Route 18 while police and crash investigators worked to process the scene. The location was later corrected to the area near mile marker 25.
The circumstances leading up to the crash have not yet been released, and the identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area and expect significant delays while the investigation remains active.
