A crash that caused fatal injuries in Colts Neck is under investigation by police.
Police closed off the southbound lanes of NJ-18 near exit 19 after a violent crash that occurred on the highway Friday night.
It happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. sending emergency responders to the scene where they found the single vehicle car crash with several people injured.
Authorities say one of the victims ejected from the car and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
EMS transported at least two victims to an area hospital in stable condition according to reports.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
