Emergency responders rushed to the scene of a crash that left one person dead Wednesday morning in Paterson.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to the vicinity of McClean Boulevard and East 33rd Street at approximately 4:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash with injuries.
Police and EMS arrived to find a car struck a pole with one occupant inside the vehicle.
The person inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene according to reports.
Expect some traffic delays in the area as utility workers from PSEG were called to repair a downed pole.
The cause of the crash and identity of the victim has not been released by Passaic County officials at this time.
