Fatal Accident on I-295 in Mercer County Claims Life of Morris Plains Resident

A tragic motor vehicle accident unfolded on Sunday at approximately 3:44 a.m. along I-295 North, near milepost 63 in Hamilton Township, Mercer County, prompting a swift response from state troopers.

According to the preliminary investigation, NJ State Police Detective Jeffrey Lebron said a Honda was traveling northbound on the interstate when it lost directional control for reasons yet to be determined.

Detective Lebron said the vehicle veered off the roadway to the right and collided with both a tree and a concrete bridge support.

The outcome of the crash was devastating, as the driver of the Honda, identified as 22-year-old Cameron Boyle from Morris Plains, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. 

At this time, Detective Lebron said the crash remains under active investigation, with authorities working to piece together the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.
