Fallen Tree Crushes Car in Harrison Overnight

Harrison's Division of Public Works technicians and maintenance crews made fast work out of a cleanup of a large tree that fell on a car in a Harrison neighborhood early Sunday morning.

Emergency responder were called to the vicinity of 308 Hamilton Street just before 6 a.m. when residents dialed 911 after hearing a loud boom outside their homes. Resident looking through their windows noticed a tree on top of a car at that location.

Firefighters and rescue crews arrived at the scene and immediately determined that the crushed car was unoccupied according to preliminary reports.

The tree took down wires from about two homes before landing on the car residences according to residents.

Harrison's DPW crews were called to the scene to perform the swift and excellent cleanup and removal of the tree.

Weather is being blamed for the tree falling according to reports.
