Fairfield Police Search for Suspect Who Fled from Route 46 Car Crash

Police in Fairfield are on the search for a suspect that bailed form a vehicle after a crash that caused the car to overturn then rolled over on a highway Thursday night.

According to preliminary reports, the crash happened at around 9:30 p.m. in the 300 block of US-46 where police say the car traveled at a high rate of speed before it crashed then flipped over.

One person was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital suffering serious injuries.

Police searched the area for a 5'8" tall white male who wore a t-shirt when he sprinted away from the severely damaged vehicle. ​ It is not immediately clear if police were chasing the car during the crash at this time.

The incident remains under investigation by Fairfield Police.
