Essex Sheriff Offers Up to $5K for Information Leading to Arrest of Suspect Wanted for Murdering East Orange Man

Essex County Sheriff Armando B. Fontoura announced, today, that the Essex County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the fatal shooting of Mr. Nicholas Edwards, 18, of East Orange.

Officials said on July 3, at 6:55 p.m., police were notified that an individual was transported to CareWell Health Medical Center, East Orange, after suffering a gunshot wound.

The individual, later identified as Edwards, was pronounced dead at 8:05 p.m.

The investigation is active and ongoing.

No arrests have been made.
