Police officials in Newark, Harrison, Kearny and East Newark were alerted of a vehicle occupied by several males who were out during the overnight committing armed robberies in the area.
According to a preliminary investigation, police say the vehicle is a silver Honda Accord with a reported NJ license plate number "F32-FZT" that was stolen from a location in Elizabeth.
The car was last observed in Kearny and Harrison then sped across Bridge Street into Newark at around 1:30 a.m.
Police say there were as many as five armed suspects occupying the vehicle who all wore masks during robberies.
Authorities have not reported locations of the robberies or if the suspects injured their victims.
The incident remains under investigation.
