Like many other counties in New Jersey, Essex County towns have opened up cooling centers for residents to escape this week's heat wave. With rising temperatures we have complied a list of a few centers available for residents around Essex County to get away and cool off. Belleville: Senior Citizens Building, intersection of Franklin Avenue and Mill Street East Orange: Eat Orange Library located at 21 South Arlington Avenue Bloomfield: Bloomfield Civic Center, 84 Broad Street, will be open as a cooling station on the following days: Tuesday, July 28st - 5PM - 9PM Wednesday,  July 29nd  - 5PM - 9PM Thursday, July 30th - 5PM - 9PM Friday, July 31st - 5PM - 9PM Newark: Bethany Senior Citizen Center, 275 W.
