Officials at Professional Ob/Gyn and Infertility Center in Irvington Township have announced their doctor's passing, who practiced for over 37 years.
According to Dr. Suresh R. Thani, an obstetrician-gynecologist and affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, died Sunday of an unspecified illness. The website Healthgrades.com has his age at 67-years-old.
Officials at his Nye Avenue office released the following statement:
"It is with a saddened heart that we tell you all that Dr. Thani passed away Sunday, December 27.
He was beloved by his family, colleagues, friends, and patients. He will be so missed. Please keep him in your prayers and good thoughts."
Scores of patients -past and present- took to the Facebook page of Dr. Suresh R. Thani’s office and expressed condolences while praising the doctor for his excellent service and patient care.
Faye Best, a long time patient of Dr. Thani, expressed the following in a post:
"I’m devastated! My deepest condolences to his family! I will truly miss you, Dr. Thani. You’ve been my doctor for over 32 years, and there is no one like you!! My heart is broken! May you rest in heavenly peace."
The Honorable Mayor Tony Vauss said the following in a statement:
"2020 has been a devastating time for our nation and it has really hit home for a lot of our local residents and business folks. 37 years of service to Irvington residents as well as residents of the surrounding area has been a tremendous asset to not just Irvington but communities throughout the state. We mourn the loss of one of our front line responders here in the township of Irvington."
Funeral arrangements for Dr. Suresh R. have not been released at this time.
