Essex County officials are once again stepping up to help families in need with a special food distribution event exclusively for SNAP recipients.
The event, organized by Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr., the Board of County Commissioners, RWJBarnabas Health, and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, will take place on Thursday, November 13 at 10 a.m. at the D. Bilal Beasley Community Center in Essex County Irvington Park on Lyons Avenue.
The initiative aims to support residents who are facing financial hardship and rising food costs. SNAP clients must present their EBT cards to participate, and food boxes will be distributed while supplies last.
Drivers attending the event are asked to line up along Lyons Avenue before turning right into the parking lot.
No left turns will be permitted.
“Food insecurity and rising costs and inflation have created uncertainty among residents with limited income or no income at all,” said County Executive DiVincenzo.
“We’re pleased to present this food distribution event to help those through these challenging times.”
Irvington Mayor Tony Vauss added that the event reflects the county’s ongoing commitment to serve its residents with compassion and consistency.

This collaborative effort demonstrates the strength of community partnerships and Essex County’s continued focus on putting residents first.
