Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of Roxanne Hewitt of East Dubois Court, Englewood, on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit.

Englewood Police Officers responded to Hewitt's residence, at which time the victim was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center and Hewitt was transported to the Englewood Police Department. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) was also contacted Molinelli said.

Detectives from SVU and the Englewood Police Department subsequently interviewed the victim, who described to them in detail the sexual acts Hewitt had engaged him in the day before. The ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of Hewitt Molinelli said.

Roxanne Hewitt was charged with two (2) counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault and one (1) count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Bail for Hewitt was set by the Honorable Judge Edward A. Jerejian, J.S.C., at $200,000.00 with no ten percent option and no contact with the victim as conditions of bail. Hewitt was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.

Prosecutor Molinelli states that these charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and would also like to thank the Englewood Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
