Elizabeth Woman Robbed At Knifepoint on Her Back Porch

A 32-year-old woman was robbed at knifepoint by a man Tuesday afternoon while sitting on her back porch.

 Police are investigating the robbery which occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. Tuesday on the back porch of a Madison Avenue home, according police.

The victim told police that she was using a laptop on her back porch when a man climbed over her fence and stole the computer and her iPhone at knifepoint, police said.

Responding officers pulled up the Find My iPhone app on their own phones and punched in the stolen phone's details, which revealed that the phone was at 665 East Jersey Street in Elizabeth, Capt. William Pinho said.

As officers and the victim drove in that direction, robber was identified by the victim as he was walking in that area.

Alejandro Marrero, 29, of Elizabeth was arrested and charged with of armed robbery, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and resisting arrest.

The iPhone and computer were recovered and returned to the victim, Pinho said.
